Over on his blog Andy Haigh wrote an incredibly lovely review of MULP #1
"To go with Gibbs story there's some gorgeous art from Sara Dunkerton. there's some great character designs and the action is handled brilliantly but what really stands out is the little details which add to the world. Details like "Acorn Airways" being emblazoned on the side of a plane seen in one of the first panels, the numerous real world landmarks that feature int he story like The White Cliffs of Dover and The British Museum and loads of other things, like a Rhinocerous Beetle being used like an ox to pull a cart in the background of one panel and mice riding lizards like horses. It's great world building which makes a great setting for the story.
MULP is a brilliant example of what comics are about."

A Flash of Midnight review - MULP Fiction
Alister Davison, a fan of anthropomorphic comics kindly reviews MULP: Sceptre of the Sun #1, here is a bit of what he had to say:
"MULP hooked me from the very first page and didn't let go until the last. Sceptre of the Sun is an Indiana Jones-esque style of adventure that not only introduces its reader to an array of wonderful characters, but does the job of setting-up the world without ever feeling like the exposition gets in the way of the story. It's an entertaining plot - one told brilliantly by writer and artist alike - with every panel leaping from the page to capture the reader's attention; there's an intricacy to almost every panel that keeps the eye on it long after the words have been read."
